Learn how to make a keto espresso martini with just 3 ingredients. This is one of my favourite cocktails that I like to make for my friends to seriously impress them!

Cocktail martinis are perfect for any occasion, they are effortless to make and yummy to taste.

A simple combination of spirits and flavoured syrup can set the right mood for the party. One such martini that has had a cult following since its inception is the Espresso Martini.

People love the mix of the freshness of coffee and the subtle flavour of Vodka, but the main negative in this stunning drink is its high sugar content, which mainly comes from the flavouring syrup.

I am sharing some low calorie espresso Martini recipes that will give you the best of both worlds without any of the guilt.

Can I use normal coffee for an espresso martini?

Yes, normal coffee can be used for an espresso martini, but it won’t offer the same creamy effect as the espresso. You can try making the coffee strong for a better flavour.

What are some different recipe variations of keto coffee martini?

Coffee and Alcohol, man’s two favourite things are combined to make an Espresso Martini, making it a royalty in the kingdom of cocktails. There are many different variations for espresso martini such as:

Vanilla Espresso Martini: Use Vanilla Vodka as the alcohol base of the martini. The use of vanilla vodka adds a more luscious flavour to the cocktail without increasing the carb intake.

Dark Chocolate Espresso Martini: what’s better than an espresso martini? a chocolate martini. Add one oz of sugar-free chocolate sauce to the mixture. A very simple garnishing of grated dark chocolate can elevate the cocktail to the next level. Remember to use unsweetened dark chocolate for this recipe.

What you’ll need to make a basic skinny espresso martini:

A cocktail shaker

Martini glass

  • 2 oz Vodka
  • one shot of freshly brewed espresso or 2tbs of brewed coffee chilled
  • 1 tbsp sugar-free syrup
  • Ice cubes
  • A few coffee beans for garnishing( optional)

Sugar Free espresso martini instructions :

  1. Brew the espresso and let it cool down. (If you have an espresso machine you can pull a shot and put it in the freezer to chill.)
  2. In a cocktail shaker add ice, vodka, sugar-free syrup, and chilled espresso.
  3. Shake the cocktail vigorously in the cocktail shaker for 3-4 mins.
  4. Strain the espresso martini into a martini glass. When pouring the mixture, do it swiftly so that the creamy foam ends up on the top.
    Garnish it with coffee beans.

What if I don’t have an espresso machine but still want that thick foamy layer?

Here’s a tip, if you don’t own an espresso machine, just use regular coffee and add 1/2 an egg white into your cocktail shaker along with the coffee, and vodka and shake it until it’s nice and foamy.

The egg white will create a luscious thick layer on top of the espresso martini which would normally only be achieved by using real espresso from a machine.

Check out my recipe on keto whiskey sour for more info on using egg whites in cocktails.
