I’ve got a keto-friendly version of this classic cocktail that will quench your thirst without derailing your diet.
In this blog post, I will share my recipe for a skinny Long Island Iced Tea recipe that’s super easy to make. Plus, I’ll also provide tips on how to order this drink at your favourite bar.
Let’s get mixing!

What is a Long Island Iced Tea?
A Long Island Iced Tea is a cocktail that contains five different types of alcohol: vodka, gin, rum, tequila, and triple sec. The drink also includes sweetener (usually simple syrup) and a splash of cola.
The drink was first invented in the Long Island region in New York, and the cola gives the drink an amber hue that resembles an iced tea, hence the name.
Is Long Island keto-friendly?
A standard glass of Long Island Iced Tea is not usually considered keto-friendly due to the carbs from the sweetener and the cola. However, you can make a few adjustments to the recipe so that it fits into your keto diet.
For example, you can use a sugar-free sweetener such as erythritol or monk fruit extract in place of simple syrup, and replace the cola with some diet coke. Now that’s a keto-friendly Long Island Iced Tea!

How many carbs and calories are in a Long Island Iced Tea?
A traditional Long Island Iced Tea has around 210 calories and contains about ten grams of carbs. source
However, my keto-friendly version has only 180 calories and 0.1 grams of carbs. This makes it perfect if you want to get a little tipsy without cheating on your keto diet.
How do you order a Keto Long Island Iced Tea at a bar?
If you’re at a bar and want to order a keto-friendly Long Island Iced Tea, just let the bartender know that you’d like a Long Island Iced Tea with no simple syrup and diet coke instead of cola.
Most bartenders should be more than happy to make it for you!
