If you are looking to start your day off on the right foot, or if you are in need of a quick and healthy weight loss snack, then green smoothies are the way to go! Find out how to make 3 super easy kale smoothie weight loss recipes.
Kale is an amazing leafy vegetable because it has high nutritional value – vitamins A, B6, C, and K, calcium, potassium, copper, iron, manganese, you name it, this superfood has it all. It also has a mild flavor that goes well with sweet fruits like berries and bananas.
Since not many like eating their leafy greens (I know I don’t!), turning them into smoothies is a great way to get all of the nutrients in. In this blog post, I will share with you three delicious and healthy smoothie recipes that will help you reach your weight goals!

Is kale good for weight loss?
Yes, kale is great for weight loss! Kale is low in calories and high in fibre.
It contains just 36 calories per cup and 2.6g of fiber.
Additionally, kale contains antioxidants that help protect the body against diseases. So not only will you lose weight by drinking these smoothies, but you will also be getting some added health benefits! Source
Can you eat raw kale in a smoothie?
Raw kale is totally fine to drink in smoothies. There is absolutely no need to cook it first.
Raw kale does however have quite a strong taste which many people dislike, that is why we add other ingredients to mask the kale taste.

Will I lose weight if I drink a smoothie everyday?
Weight loss ultimately comes down to being in a calorie deficit. Since smoothies made with kale are low in calories they can help create a calorie deficit if you substitute those smoothies with your regular snacks or meals.
Smoothies are also high in fiber which will help keep you full for longer therefore reducing snacking.
How to prepare kale for smoothies:
- Rinse kale leaves under cold running water
- Remove stems from kale leaves, we will only be using the leaves
- Cut the leaves into smaller pieces if needed

Best Kale Smoothies for Weight Loss:
1. Berries and Kale Smoothie
This is my favourite version of the kale smoothie. It’s sweet, refreshing, and loaded with antioxidants. The taste of the berries will mask the bitterness of the kale, so it’s perfect for adults as well as kids to get their daily dose of vitamins and minerals.
I like to use a mix of blueberries, blackberries, and raspberries. The combination of Vitamin K and manganese from the blueberries, phosphorous and selenium from the raspberries, and the high amount of antioxidants from the blackberries make this drink a power-packed super-smoothie for long health.
Ingredients (1 serving):
1/2 cup mixed berries
A squeeze of honey

2. Kale Banana Smoothie
This smoothie is a great way to start your day or as an afternoon snack. The banana will give you some energy to get through the day along with a fair amount of potassium, while the kale will provide you with essential vitamins and minerals.
It’s loaded with fibre which will help keep you feeling full until lunchtime.
I like to use a frozen banana for this recipe because it gives the drink a nice frosty texture, but if you don’t have one on hand then you can just use a fresh banana instead.

Spinach and Kale – two of the healthiest leafy vegetables in the plant kingdom. Put them together and you have a drink that is not only nutrient-dense but also helps to detoxify the body, improve heart health, promote weight loss, and even protect against diseases like cancer and diabetes!
Although not everyone will enjoy the raw, potent taste of this powerful concoction, you can always add some frozen fruits or sweeteners while blending this smoothie to offset some of the leafy flavours.
